NEW WEBSITE LAUNCHED!!

So I have finally launched my new website www.jondaviesphotography.co.uk All blog posts will now be uploaded onto the Blog section of the new site.

If you are currently subscribed to this blog and wish to be kept up to date with my new posts, be informed when I post new images, etc you can go to www.jondaviesphotography.co.uk and subscribe to the new site for regular updates. It’s probably worth staying subscribed to this site as well as I may upload the odd post on here if it’s not really suitable or in keeping with the portrait and commercial emphasis of the new site.

I have also just created a brand new Facebook page www.facebook.com/photographerjondavies which is where I will be uploading additional images and running promotions and special offers. Take a look and ‘Like’ the page!

Anyway that’s all for now! Thank you all for following this blog for the last couple of years and for all your comments. I hope you’ll enjoy my work on the new site from this point forward! See you there 🙂

Seven Little Sisters – Nottingham Riverside Festival

Here are a few images from Seven Little Sisters set at Nottingham Riverside Festival last friday. I have to be honest I hadn’t heard of them when I saw them but they were amazing! Really got the crowd going and even managed to get me do-si-doing and dancing like a loon!

Hopefully you’ve enjoyed the last couple of posts I’ve put up. The next set of gig images I post will be pretty different to anything I’ve posted before, but that’s something for another post…

Photos of Prague part 2

Here are a few more street photography images from Prague. I’ve included images from a few of my highlights from the trip which include; the John Lennon wall – It’s covered completely in drawings, stencils and graffiti relating to the Beatles singer/songwriter, the upside down horse statue which is randomly hung in an old shopping arcade, and the hanging man which we must have walked past on at least ten occasions before reading in the guide book that he was there and finally looking up!

The rest were all taken on Charles bridge – one of the main tourist attractions in the city. Lots of interesting characters, my personal favourite is the girl bent backwards over the wall, that really can’t be comfortable!!

Prague!

It’s been a really long time since I’ve uploaded any travel photography images onto the blog so it was definitely time for a couple of days away to capture some new images!

I genuinely love travel photography for many reasons. It combines some of my favourite things in life; exploring new places, meeting new people, experiencing new cultures, and last but not least – photography.

These hares were resident on the golf course we stayed next to, along with the old banger car – love the winters morning light on them, which is why this images has made it up here 🙂

You’ll notice throughout the set of images I’ve posted up here and if you’ve followed my blog up until this point through my older images, that I’m not one for taking lots of pictures of the big tourist attractions and the sites from the countries I visit. For me the joy of visiting a new country and experiencing a new culture is all about the people. I love to watch people and to capture images of interactions and amazing expressions.

I’ve thrown in a couple of ‘postcard’ images of Prague to give a feel for the city. It’s a really beautiful city full of incredible gothic architecture, wonderful people and has a real fairy tale feel about it.

I’ll be uploading more images from this trip shortly so stay tuned for part 2!

Nottingham location portraits!

And as promised here is my second post of the night!

These images were all taken around Nottingham city centre. Thanks to the kindness of both J.D. Wetherspoon’s on the Market Square and Nottingham Fat Cats we had somewhere to take our models to have their make up done and to use as locations for some portraiture.
Big thank you to both venues for your amazing hospitality!

The other shots were taken in various places around the city – mainly near the castle.

The models were Paige and Sara Belle who were both great on the day and once again braved the cold for us all day so a big thank you to them too 🙂

Nottingham Light Night

It’s been longer than I would have liked since my last blog post but I’m going to do two in a row to make up for it. I’ll either get the second uploaded straight after this one or it may be tomorrow evening but it is coming 🙂

These images are from one of the regular free events held in Nottingham and one of the reasons it’s such a great place city to live in.

Nottingham Night Light:

I think they give a good impression of the atmosphere of the night even if they may not be amazing works of art (I may or may not have had a couple of after work drinks before taking them!)
